Summit was founded in 1986 by Lee Solomon and was first known as Solomon Consulting Services . The company did well and grew such that in January, 1990 became incorporated as Summit Software Company. Mr. Solomon started the company with the goal of providing quality software development services to business and industry. His goal was not to be the biggest, but to provide the highest level of service to his clients.
Summit has a highly qualified talent pool of software and network engineers. Over the years Summit has successfully implemented solutions requiring every Information Technology discipline. Summit's consultants all have extensive experience in project planning, development, and implementation.
At the beginning of 2005 it became evident that a name change was in order to better reflect the full line of IT Services that Summit provides. After doing business for 14 years as Summit Software Company the name was changed to Summit IT Services. In February of 2005 the name became official.
In June of 2007 the company was purchased by TunaFish Enterprises, owned by David Turner, a local technology based sales and marketing executive. The company continues to expand its customer base and markets served. With Mr. Turner's many years of building and developing world class technology sales teams it only makes sense that Summit now offer this experience to our customers and help them improve the performance of their teams. To support these additional capabilities we are now going to be known as Summit Consulting Services.
Summit's goal continues to be to solve your IT and now Sales process and staffing problems. Whether you need help with Requirements, Analysis, Design, Development, Quality Assurance or any other business discipline, Summit can help. If you need assistance with a software or network project Summit can provide complete solutions to the challenges you face every day. Whatever the clients’ technical need, Summit tailors solutions to help them achieve their goals.
I am often asked “What makes Summit different from other consulting services firms?” My answer is values. At Summit we value honesty, integrity and dependability. It’s just the way we do business. At Summit we haven’t forgotten that the root word of Service is Serve. Our success comes from putting our client’s needs before our own.

Recent Milestones
Summit IT Service’s President David Turner announced today that his company has entered into recruiting services agreements with a number of significant North Carolina based technology companies. Among them are Gilbarco Veeder-Root, DataFlux, EView Technologies, EDSA Micro, eCast, etrials and Integrian.
